Day Tour Dion - Litohoro
This day tour gives you the opportunity to visit Dion. The religious center of ancient Macedonia and all Greece. Dion is dedicated to Olympian Zeus and its located to the foothills of mountain Olympos where the palace of the twelve gods believed to be. Alexander the Great offered rich sacrifices to the gods and especially to Zeus before leaving for his campaign to Asia. In Dion we will visit both the archaeological site and the museum where you can see numerous important findings of the place.
After Dion we will head to Olympos and the village Litohoro. There you can take a walk to the valley of Enipeas, on the low slopes of the mountain. Since 1981 Olympos has been included in UNESCOs list of preserved parts of the global biosphere and there also the first National Park of Greece. Litohoro has unique natural beauty which is combined with the traditional site of the village. There are many cafes and restaurants where you can try the local cuisine before heading back to Thessaloniki.
This tour lasts about 10 hours. If you want to visit more destinations, we can always take you there by extending the tour. Any transformation can be done after your previous request.
